Mind the Head: Head Support Interventions for Clients with Tone
For people who use wheelchairs, proper head support is vital: It impacts how well they can operate their wheelchairs and perform activities of daily living. Head support and control can also impact communications, visual fields, and so many other crucial functions.
Seating experts Bart Van der Heyden, PT, and Filipe Monforte Correia, European & Latin American Business Developing Manager for Stealth Products, will discuss common reflex patterns and how the interaction between autonomic responses and seating systems can impact tone, function, pain and fatigue.
They will also share holistic seating strategies for managing head positioning for clients with tone, and will present different head support options.
